PcComponentes is Spain's leading technology and electronics e-commerce retailer. Founded in 2005, the company built its early growth around Spanish and Portuguese customers before setting its sights on France, Italy and Germany.

That expansion meant PcComponentes needed a training partner that could support several languages at once, across teams as different as procurement, customer service and marketplace, all while keeping the programme simple enough for a small HR team to run.

PcComponentes piloted Busuu with a small group of two to three learners before rolling the programme out more widely. Pilot learners had struggled to engage with other providers but quickly adapted to Busuu thanks to the personalised lessons and a more straightforward self-led experience.

• Easy admin through the central dashboard
• Access to Spain's FUNDAE subsidised training scheme, which allows the business to recover its investment

Teams can now work across borders without relying on translation. For example, colleagues in Portugal, who had limited Spanish proficiency, can now work directly with the Spanish team. Others have built French or Italian to near-fluent level, so the same person can support customers across new markets.

Language training also reaches teams that PcComponentes hadn't originally planned to prioritise, including customer service, marketplace and HR, alongside the more established need in procurement.

For the HR team, the time saved on admin has mattered as much as the language gains. Managing course sign-ups, tracking progress and running renewals takes noticeably less effort than PcComponentes' previous, more fragmented approach.
